In Outlook Express, get socket Error 10061 Error No. 800CCCOE on Bt openworld email, checked configured OK,?

My Orange email messages comes into Outlook Express fine, but the Bt one has the above error message, yet the messages come onto my MailWasher Spam filter ok, but not onto Outlook Express, I have checked the mail accounts with your questions %26amp; answers and are fine. I am using Windows XP Pro. SP2, Outlook Express 6. Can anyone help me, why this is happening please?

Reply:Check the settings on your outgoing smtp server. There was a recent change that requires some users to change their outgoing settings so that the id referenced matches the email address.





Example:





your@email.com smtp.email.yahoo.com





Also make sure SSL is checked which should set port 465

Using SE k750i mobile's built in email client, I tried to connect my sancharnet email box. Yes I can read my mail but when I try to send one it say " Sending Fail" why ? I configure it as 1) Incoming server=nmma.sancharnet.in, port=110. 2) Out going server=nmra.sancharnet.in port=25. What could be the problem ?

are you sure you configured it to the right ports also chack to make sure your firewall is letting it out over these ports

As far as I can tell, you can't do what you are wanting to do. OE uses 'POP3' mail accounts. Yahoo mail is a web based mail account. It is possibly a POP account, but it HAS to be POP3 to come through Outlook. You can use bluebottle.com, hotpop.com, and a host of other pop3 servers that will deliver in OE ( both those are free ), but not Yahoo.

Reply:Outlook also allows you to receive HTML mail which is yahoo's free service. All you do is put the web address into the account you are trying to create and your password etc. The problem I found in this, it is limits the functions you are used to in outlook such as delivery receipts, and read receipts, etc.

But you can do it upgrading to Yahoo Mail Plus. It is somehow cheap.

You usually assign an email server a static IP address. When you order a commercial type connection they give you an allocation range of static IP addresses. Then you can have the select few log into the smtp server at the IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx with their user name and password.





If you run an email server from home and your ISP finds out you may loose your account permanently.

configure your accounts from there. make sure your accounts are outlook acceptable. Yahoo! is not - you have to pay for it.

Configuring Yahoo email in outlook, error 80042110, POP3?

I have my PC configured to receive Yahoo and SBCglobal e-mail directly to Outlook, it's been working all year until now. I am able to send but not receive - Yahoo Help had me configure new port settings (POP from 110 to 995, and SSL checked), SMTP (from 25 - 465, SSL also checked). The error I receive from Outlook 'receiving reported error, your POP3 server is providing inconsistent information. The number of messages returned by STAT commands does not match the number of items returned by the UIDL or LIST commands. Contact your ISP'.





Anyone get this? And fixed it? Help

I need help in configuring Microsoft Outlook to send and receive my Yahoo email.?

My incoming mail (pop3) server is: pop.bizmail.yahoo.com, port 995.


My outgoing Mail (SMTP) is: smtp.bizmail.yahoo.com, port 465 with authentication.


The error message I get is: Logon to incoming mail server (pop3): the specified server was found but there was no response from the server. Please verify that the port and SSL information is correct.
I need help in configuring Microsoft Outlook to send and receive my Yahoo email.?
